"Nelson Offutt, 67, Head Of Insurance Agency - Nelson Thomason Offutt. who was president of a local insurance agency and was active in civil affairs, died Monday night at Union Memorial Hospital. Mr. Offutt was admitted to the hospital Monday morning for complications resulting from heart trouble He was 67 Funeral arrangements were incomplete as of this morning. Mr. Offutt was president of Swope. Offutt, Kamtman and Pitts, a general insurcance firm with which he had been associated for about 40 years. A member of numerous civic associations as well as the Elkridge Club and the Maryland Club, Mr. Offutt also served as president of the Maryland Heart Association in 1959. As chairman of the heart association's fund-raising drive in 1961, he lead a campaign to bring half a million dollars into the organization's coffers He was also on the national fund-raising advisory and policy committee of the American Heart Association. Born in Oakland, Garrett County, Mr. Offutt attended the Gilman School in Baltimore and the University of Virginia. During World War II, he published and edited a newsletter for American servicemen who were overseas. Called the Salute, copies of the newsletter recently were donated to the Maryland Historical Society. The publication was essentially a rewrite of gossip and humorous items from newspapers. Besides his wife of 41 years, Agnes Edelen Offutt, Mr. Offutt is survived by: Anne O. Biggs, a daughter, living in Stevenson, Baltimore County; Barty O. Matney, a daughter living in Roland Park; Nelson T Offutt Jr., a son living in Owings Mills; Charles E. Offutt, a son living in Roland Park; D. Seymour Offutt, a brother living in Los Angeles, Calif., and Nelle Chesley. a sister living in Sarasota, Fla. Also surviving him are 10 grandchildren." James E. Moffatt. Miss Humbird entered the church on the arm of her father, Mr. J. Wilson Humbird. The maid of honor was Miss Anna Spier and the bridesmaids were Miss Nell Offutt, sister of the groom; Miss Anna Humbird, of Pittsburg; Miss Bessie Shearer, Miss Gretchen Wellington, daughter of ex-Senator George L. Wellington; Miss Bessie Roberts and Miss Marlon Gordon. The groomsman was Mr. D. E. Offutt, Jr. The ushers were Mr. C. Elwood Offutt and Dr. W. H. H. Bixler, of Oakland; Mr. William Devries, Mr. Elder Humbird, Mr. Crede Wilson and Mr. Charles Offutt. Following the wedding was a reception at the bride's home. In the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Humbird, Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Offutt, the newly married couple, and Miss Anna Spier, the maid of honor."

Beall for the family of John Beall and his wife Verlinda (nee Magruder) which states that daughter Verlinda married her nephew Thomas Beall isn't correct. Thomas according to Roberta married his first cousin, daughter of Josias, as proved by the will of Josias Jr., in which he willed to the children of his sister Verlinda and her husband Thomas. She goes on to state that Verlinda Beall, daughter of John Beall was in fact "available" to marry William Offutt Sr.
    The Offutt's didn't know that Hannah had married William Beall so she wasn't "available " to marry William Offutt. Sr.

He was born circa 1749 at Montgomery County, MD, USA.1,2 He married Charlotte Magruder, daughter of Samuel Brewer Magruder and Rebecca Magruder. Kinsey Beall died before 1821.2
