Rhodes died Tuesday, Funeral services were held at the family residence, 1320 Florida avenue northeast, Thursday afternoon. Rev. M. Thomas of St. Mary's Church officiated. Interment was at Glenwood Cemetery. Mr. Rhodes was a native of Philadelphia, but went to New York in his early manhood to accept a position in the customs house there. Later he came to this city, where he remained until his death. He married the oldest daughter of Martin Renehan, who was doorkeeper at the White House under five Presidents. His widow and four sons survive him. The oldest son, William S. Rhodes was on the Brooklyn in the Spanish-American War as gunner, and received three medals of honor from Admiral Schley.
