Offutt, 46 years old, died at his home 14 miles southwest of Mexico Thursday morning after an extended illness. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claggett Offutt. The funeral was held Thursday at 3 o'clock from the Westminster church by the Rev. Sam Wood. The body was buried in the cemetery at that place. Mr. Offutt leaves a wife and two children. Mrs. Offutt was before her marraige Miss Mary Holman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Holman of this city. The children are; Elizabeth and Bazell. Other surviving members of his family are : his mother, Mrs. Claggett Offut; his three brothers Ernest Offutt, of California; Walter Offutt, Mexico; Rob Offutt, Benton City; and one sister; Mrs. W. H. Fry, Auxvasse. The Ledger joins the friends of the family in extending sympathy." The date of death based on the obituary would be September 30, 1915 which would conflict with the death certificate, I've removed it.
